Books on Friendship

Hi, readers!

I’m not really a fan of Parks & Rec, but I do enjoy their made-up holiday, Galentine’s Day. Celebrated on the day before Valentine’s Day, this holiday is a way to celebrate the women in your life. So today I’m sharing four books that showcase strong friendships between women and girls!

The Alice Network by Kate Quinn

This is a fantastic piece of historical fiction based on a real life spy network. In this book, two incredibly different women work together to track down a beloved cousin after WWII. You can read my review of this book here.

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng

This is a great novel that focuses on two families and how their lives unravel. This book features several types of relationships between women and girls, as we have mothers/daughters, friends, and sisters. These various combinations that often span generations prove that different relationships can provide different benefits.

The Lying Game by Ruth Ware

Four high school friends are reunited after a devastating event. This isn’t my favorite book by Ware, but the dynamics between these four friends were my favorite parts to read. This book does a great job of showcasing how relationships change as we age.

The Strays by Emily Bitto

This is a short and quiet book focusing on a young girl in Australia who befriends a classmate and their antics with the new friend’s artist family. You can read my review of this book here.

That’s it for today! What books would you recommend that are about friendship?
